Gem-like magenta pastel color in the glass with viscous legs tantalizing the eye. Light body, with tempting aromas of Hawaiian fruit punch and underlying wet stone. Bursting through on the palate--juicy red fruits--cherry, strawberry and darker tones of cassis and blueberry mixed with a vein of serious minerality that makes this Pinot Noir from the Loire Valley almost seem more like a Gamay. Fascinating expression of Pinot from this tiny producer.
"The young and talented Emile Balland started his own domaine in 1999. Hailing from a long line of Sancerre vignerons (dating back to 1650!), Emile began to acquire his own parcels in the Coteaux du Giennois and Sancerre while finishing his studies in Agricultural Engineering (Angers) and Oenology (Toulouse). His total holdings are a mere 5 hectares, including 1 hectare in Sancerre"
